We have had a busy time since our last Newsletter. The children had an amazing Christmas and were lucky enough to once again be visited by Santa who brought the children individual presents. A huge thank you to the Dawlish Spiritualist Church for organising this for us once again. The children were also lucky enough to sail with Santa via Stuart Line Cruises Exmouth thanks to an anonymous donor who donated £250.00 direct to Stuart Line Cruises. What a great time we all had.
Our annual Carol Concert at Luscombe Church was once against a huge success and we managed to raise a huge amount of money. Thank you to everyone involved in organising this brilliant event. Some of our children did readings and even introduced Makaton to the congregation by signing along to a couple of carols. Shaldon Singers very kindly donated the proceeds of their carol concert in the sum of £434.00 thank you to all involved. A huge thank you to Chris Cole for again entertaining the residents of Royal Court and donating the proceeds to us.
We have again been very fortunate in receiving some wonderful donations and it is only because of the huge support that we receive that we are able to give our children some fantastic days out. We received the sum of £150.00 from Dawlish Bowling Club. We also received a cheque for £1,000.00 from Paradigm Norton Trust and £205.00 from Holcombe Residents Association. Our annual conkers tournament held by HGRFC at The Castle managed to raise £350.00. The Rotary Club of Dawlish have very kindly donated the sum of £400.00 to us. Finally, the Teignmouth Inn, Dawlish managed to raise £102.00 for us at their Quiz Night. All in all, we are extremely lucky for such wonderful donations and cannot thank you all enough.
Unfortunately, we have had to say goodbye to Lizzie Swinford from Dance in Devon but are hoping she will be able to come back and provide further sessions to our children.
We have updated our safeguarding procedures recently and there is now a notice at the group with which we are asking everyone to familiarise themselves with.
We have had a busy start to the year and already have some amazing activities lined up for the children all of which we would not be able to do without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers so once again thank you all for your hard work.
