It is absolutely wonderful to see the group go from strength to strength and we continually welcome new families who seem to settle straight in.
We are so lucky to have such amazing play-leaders and volunteers who between them make such a huge impact on the success of our group. The activities work really well and it is so lovely to see the amazing pieces of art and cookery the children produce each week. Our pirate themed day went down a treat and all the children really enjoyed themselves.
We have had some amazing trips out since April. We have been kayaking at Decoy Park and all enjoyed a BBQ together afterwards. The children all participated and a good day was had by all.
We have also visited Clip n Climb in Exeter again which the children always enjoy. It is wonderful to see how much the children have progressed since our last visit. We had a beach day in Teignmouth and afterwards took the children crabbing. The children managed to catch lots of crabs and we all enjoyed ourselves. We visited the Orange Elephant Ice Cream Parlour recently and this was a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Again the children did us proud by being so well behaved as they were having so much fun. A few of us did manage to get lost in the maze but we eventually made our way out and everybody enjoyed a delicious ice-cream after lunch.
Our children took part in a sponsored walk from Powderham Church to Turf Locks and back. They walked 2.5 miles to tie in with our 25th Anniversary. The weather was lovely and it really was a great day. Once again the children were amazing and managed to raise the huge sum of £422.15 for A.I.M.S.
Our Play-Leader, Fran, decided to swim 25k over 25 days to celebrate our anniversary. Fran managed to raise a whopping sum of £425.00 for A.I.M.S.
This July A.I.M.S. have celebrated 25th Years. We had a party to mark the occasion and this was a huge success and worked really well. Everybody worked so hard to ensure the day went smoothly. Again, considering all the extra people, the children really surpassed themselves. To seem them all enjoying themselves is a real pleasure.
Our talented Play-Leader, Kathy made the most amazing cake.
We have received donations from Teignmouth Moose International. We also received a donation from the Teignmouth Inn, Dawlish who held a quiz night on our behalf. We were very lucky to receive the huge sum of £500.00 from Rotary Club of Dawlish. Dawlish Home Aid held a coffee morning for us on 25th August 2017 and managed to raise £300.00 which they donated to A.I.M.S.
We are extremely grateful to all our supporters and the money raised for A.I.M.S. allows us to take the children on special outings.
A huge thank you to all our dedicated play-leaders and volunteers who do such an amazing job and make AIMS such a special place.
