We hope everone has recovered from the various bugs circulating over Christmas and you are all recovered and ready for 2011.
We have managed to get funding from Devon County Council for some days out and we are going to Dawlish Leisure Centre on the 12th March to do a variety of activities and practice for the Rotary Swimathon which is on the 17th April. The grant will also pay for our trip to the aquarium which is on the 9th April.
The White Hart raised £100 selling their beef burgers and mulled wine at the Christmas market. The Swan Inn raised £45 and the staff at Scott Richard raised £85 as an alternative to Christmas cards. Two customers at the Swan Inn bought raffle tickets and gave us their prizes. So far we sold some for £25 and one was used in a raffle that raised £200 and we still have two left. A big thank you to both of them. Recycling at its best? The members of Salem Lodge held a quiz night and raised £420. This was a really fun evening and we weren’t made to feel stupid. So well done.
All this fund raising is really important to us and on behalf of AIMS I should like to thank everyone for their support.
Despite the generosity of people we have to continue fund raising so we are having a skittles evening at the Brunswick on the 7th April. You could bring your own team or come along and join a team. I will send details later.
We do have an Open Day once a year but if anyone would like to come and visit us to see how you’re fund raising is spent please feel free to join us at the Bungalow on a Saturday morning and see AIMS at work.
