Happy New Year. Despite 2020 being a horrendous year, it has gone pretty quickly and luckily AIMS has managed to survive thanks to the hard work of all of our staff and volunteers. We have adapted the way we work and have managed to support our families through several lockdowns. We have been lucky to hold a couple of sessions just before the festive period.
Having received some funding, some of our families were able to enjoy a Christmas outing on the Sail with Santa experience held by Stuart Line Cruises in Exmouth.https://www.stuartlinecruises.co.uk/
Despite not being able to hold any of our annual fund-raising events, we have still continued to receive some wonderful donations from Dr. P. Diprose, Mr. A. Watson and our volunteers. The huge sum of £1,000.00 was received from Paradigm Norton Trust. The Dawlish Spiritualist Church were extremely generous in donating £100.00 which allowed us to purchase Christmas presents for all of our children which we delivered. Teignbridge Community and Voluntary Services awarded us a grant of £500.00 which allowed us to purchase some much-needed equipment and to cover the cost of our Sail with Santa experience. Finally, a huge thank you to Jill’s granddaughter, Lucy, who has decided to run 50 miles in January to raise money for AIMS. We consider ourselves very lucky to receive such donations as this is an extremely difficult time for all small charities. Here’s hoping for a better 2021.
