Although we have not yet re-started our group sessions, we have all been keeping in touch and all of our families have been busy making some very special memories – all of which have been captured in our very own “Lockdown Photograph Album”. It has been really special to see our families enjoying themselves even though we cannot be together.
Unfortunately, at the moment, it won’t be possible for AIMS to return to our weekly sessions. The school are not able to facilitate us at the present moment in time but are keeping us in the loop about how things progress. On a happier note, however, we have been informed that some new outdoor play equipment has been installed on the school’s lower site and a mountain bike track is now ready for use. This is really exciting!! We can’t wait for children to start using it. Our staff, volunteers and committee members are still in constant communication and we will do everything within our powers to re-open our sessions as soon as it is safe to do so. Please do contact us if you have any suggestions.
One of our supporters, Laura Bryant, was lucky enough to win some play equipment in a competition which she very kindly donated to AIMS. We cannot wait to get back to our sessions and for the children to make good use of this. We have also been lucky enough to continue to receive very generous donations during this period. We have received £310.00 from the Mayoress of Dawlish, £2,166.00 from the Dawlish Warren Ladies Golf Club and we have also received the amounts won by Dawlish Water Rotary of £200.00 and The Swan Inn, Holcombe of £50.00 from a quiz. We are extremely grateful for these donations as our usual fund-raising events have all had to be cancelled for safety reasons and this is an extremely difficult time for all small charities.
We hope that everyone is keeping safe during these strange times.
