Newsletter June 2014

Well we have had another busy period since the last Newsletter in March 2014.

During the beginning of April some of our children took part in the Dawlish Rotary Swimathon to raise money for AIMS.  The children worked really hard and managed to raise a whopping total of over £270.00.  A huge thank you and well done to all those who took part you were amazing.

The Dawlish Spiritualist Church kindly provided Easter eggs for us again.  As the weather was pleasant, we had an outdoor egg hunt.  The children had to find four coloured eggs to “win” their prize.  It was great fun and even the older children enjoyed the challenge.

We are no longer part of the 5 charities Bingo but are extremely grateful for the money raised by this event for AIMS.

We had a great day out at Clip n Climb in Exeter at the end April.  Over 20 children took part in this event and most of them were brave enough to do “the leap of faith” which involved a big jump from a small ledge!  Everyone had a great time and the children proved to be excellent climbers.

We have some fabulous activities lined up to take us up to the summer holidays and weather permitting, plan to have a picnic in Teignmouth at the end of the July.

We continue to make use of the swimming pool.

We were lucky enough to receive a whopping £7,816.00 from Teignmouth Golf Club – the biggest single sum we have every received via donations.  We are extremely grateful to both Ladies and Gents golf teams for nominating AIMS as their chosen charity.

We are extremely grateful to everyone that has supported us. It is vital that we continue to fundraise to ensure that AIMS can continue.  All the money raised goes towards the children and their families.

Please feel free to come along and visit us at Oaklands Park School on a Saturday morning and see how your fund-raising is being spent.
