We would like to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year. AIMS have started back in their new home at Oaklands Park School and have settled well. The children enjoy the extra space and play resources available to them and it was good to see them enjoying their new bikes, scooters etc. in the playground which is larger than previous and has more hills and corners to negotiate.
The shed is erected and it can hold all our resources. It is thanks to all those who helped us move, wet when we started but then it turned into a good day. Thank you also goes to John Clatworthy (DCC) for giving us an additional grant towards the shed.
Once we have been at Oaklands for a little while we will hopefully be able to use the swimming pool.
At the Christmas party Robin and Mandy were presented with a gift as they have been with AIMS for more than ten years and we are delighted to say that they will be continuing with us. Denise and Rachel are also continuing as play leaders, which is all good news for AIMS.
Again I am delighted to say that I have written lots of thank you cards to people who continue to raise funds for us and thanks goes to the Teignmouth Townswomen’s Guild, Dawlish Ladies Guild, The Swan Dawlish. Scott Richards, Solicitors, the White Ensign Club, Teignmouth and Chrissie Taylor for the Carol Concert at Luscombe. This was a lovely evening and it is thank you to all who took part. We are hoping this will be a permanent feature on our calendar. We also had a cheque for £1153 from Claire McCooey who raised money through various talks and her 007 Summer Ball. Well done Claire and congratulations to you and Steve on your engagement.
A reminder that we are involved in a joint venture with 3 other Dawlish charities to raise funds, Richards Wish, Hospital League of Friends and Ashcombe Church. This involves Bingo at the Langstone Cliff on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The next one is January 18th. It is a fun evening and raises lots of money. Each week one of the charities runs the raffle and can take the proceeds with them. This can raise quite a lot of money as people are very generous. We are very grateful to Jimmy Hill for organising this for us. So do come along and join us.
